The original ‘Scruffie marine’ boat. Designed in 1990 to be as close to the perfect everyday boat as possible. Big enough for a comfortable day out for a group of people, but small enough to be easily built launched and sailed.

Mix and match
• Standard or performance rig
• Standard or lightweight hull
• 63 Kg or 95 Kg ballast
• Dayboat or cuddy cabin
• (A stretched workboat version, with payload of up to 1 tonne, also available)

All versions are well-balanced, capable, sailing boats. Fast enough to keep the most discerning sailor happy, but with an easily handled, simple rig, including furling gear on the genoa.

The long straight fixed keel needs no tending, has no moving parts, gives excellent directional stability, and gives full windward performance right into the shallows. With the extra ballast option, the boat is self-righting from a knockdown.

Anchor or moor, and the absence of a centreboard case means loads of room in the uncluttered cockpit. Believe it or not you can fit a 6’ by 3’ table (if you’ve got one spare!) with 8 people for lunch (sheltered water only, please). Remember, this is the same size as a Wayfarer.
